Congratulations! It is day 23 of the 21 day challenge! I have been so engrossed in all things coaching and life, that the days flew by and I missed the 21st day! A good sign that all went well. This is where the fun begins because with all things coaching, any success needs to be celebrated...
... just before we get out the party streamers though, it is worthwhile taking a very quick look at the outcomes of the challenge:
What worked? What didn't?
What had to be 'tweaked'? I ended up getting up earlier in the morning to do my yoga to ensure it fitted into my day. I was just so tired in the evening, it was a struggle rather than a pleasure. Happily, it turns out to be a brilliant way to start the day!
Did the challenge work at all? Maybe it didn't and you just couldn't manage it. This is not a failure at all but an opportunity to look at your planning and expectations. What would you do differently next time?
How has your new habit influenced your thinking or actions? Are you going to carry on- in what capacity?
Me. I missed some sessions while away with my daughter but that was circumstance rather than enthusiam. It is certainly something I know I want to make sure I continue doing. When the challenge turned from a chore to a choice, it all became easier.
At about that time (day 15), I also became more aware of the benefits of the habit I was developing. And that further served to make it a pleasure rather than a pain! The challenge is less about challenging yourself but more about being aware of fears, blocks, expectations and critical voices; along with our untapped strengths and capabilities.
As for celebrating: I am looking at dinner out with a lovely friend and inspiration.
I would love to hear your success stories, thoughts and triumphs and especially how you have or are planning to celebrate! Join the forum discussion and see what others have to say.
