The onset of the colder months makes me feel a little like that. I have been living with Autumn in my blood over recent weeks: energy levels have dropped, the workings of mind and body have slowed. It's almost like a preparation for hibernation. I could feel that I have been very unproductive and inactive in certain areas, which I have: social media and blogging for a start! But, perhaps sadly or gladly, I can't crawl into a warm cosy hole and sleep out the winter! After a bit of a think I realised what I have done in this time is be very productive in other areas. Essentially I have been getting my 'house' in order.
This year, so that I am able to stride out into that winter sun filled with energy and enthusiasm, I have spent valuable time tying loose ends, tidying, sorting and throwing out, goal-setting, planning and preparing... mentally and emotionally as well as physically. It's been an autumn version of a spring-clean!
Because I tend to get quite affected by winter (ever heard of S.A.D.D?) it makes sense to prepare for it in a postive way instead of just surviving the bleak months. This year, I want to be THRIVING!
Want to know how to thrive too?
