Recent experience and conversation about coaching has made me aware of the some sentiment out there that going to a coach is an admission of failure. It suggests that you are not capable or are struggling.
I suggest a different perspective. Life coaching is based on the premise that the client comes from a place of strength and capability. Coaching is a journey of discovery and of gaining MORE from your life. Yes, clients may initially approach a coach because they feel there is something wrong or that they aren’t coping but with guidance and greater understanding, they come to realize it is more about confidence or awareness of alternatives. Once clients see there are other ways of thinking or being or doing, they then tap into their inner strength and determination to overcome their challenges.
You are more than capable of creating a life of balance and joy. You do have the strength to create a future you desire. It is possible to gain confidence and make change for yourself. And if it isn’t happening for you now, show your determination and courage by getting the support you need from someone who can open up to you the potential that is you!
Getting support from a coach is not a sign of weakness, an admission of failure or inability to cope. What it shows instead is your strength and determination to overcome the challenges you face and ensures you live a confident, balanced and happy life!
