Energy to burn

Do you believe you can determine how you feel about your day? How strong is your belief in being the ‘master of your own destiny’? Do you feel empowered on a daily basis or is it that the universe has it in for you?

If you take time to think about the energy you are carrying or feeling, you can really get an idea of what your day might look like: if you are surrounded by good energy you will undoubtedly feel more energised, more enthusiastic, organised and on top of things. On the other hand, carrying negative energy has the opposite effect:  you feel drained, lethargic, and grumpy;  you struggle to cope and feel overwhelmed.

You can really turn your day around when you consider the energy around you. You’ve got a to-do list as long as your arm? You have something to do that you’ve been putting off for weeks? Shift your energy to a more positive one and you will find the task much easier.

Day to day life is riddled with chores and must-do’s that rather than letting them dictate your mood, do them with good energy instead. Boring things are part of life, so why not make them fun? Even if it’s just putting music on while you do the dishes, you will flick the switch on your energy and you will feel differently. You will begin to feel better. It is often the most simple or easy ideas that are the most effective and bring the most benefit.

That is why support groups work so well. If you are going to attempt something that might be frightening, scary, hard, or painful- having the encouragement and camaraderie of others will help to see you through your struggles. Not only are you sharing your burden, but you often can't help but have fun when a group of likeminded people get together.

Try it. What other things do you do to make something boring or a chore, more fun or bearable?
